Questions and answers

Q:  Are The Loaded Whispers and Chansons De Geste bands?  Did you leave those bands/will you ever go back?

A:  The Loaded Whispers and Chansons De Geste are not exactly bands (even though I’m guilty of referring to them as such myself).  They were names I gave to an artistic collective of my imagination.  I always wanted to play music with people, and I guess it was a sort of “build it and they will come” scenario.  I wanted to have the idea of a band ready for the day when I’d have other musicians playing with me.  The way things worked out over time was that it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be to find musicians who understood the music I was trying to make, and so The Loaded Whispers and Chansons De Geste never became full fledged bands with more than one member.  I’ve always been a one person band, writing songs, playing all of the instruments, recording, and producing everything.  I’ve now left the band names behind and am planning to continue releasing my music under my name.  Nothing about how the music comes to be has changed, but the names.

Q:  Is Jeremiah James in your band?

A:  Jeremiah James is a poet, whose words I often use in my songs.  He is my best friend and confidant, the patron of my music, and the one I share all my ideas with first.  Sometimes, he plays tambourine on stage with me.  We spend our time together in music, and in dreams.  He is also a phenomenal archivist of popular culture, with his record collection being the greatest I have ever seen.  He always recognizes important music, and he has never been wrong about a song.  In the band?  He’s never played an instrument, but I still consider him part of the artistic collective because of his poetry and because I admire and enjoy his mind.
